Autumn Saturday

A few months ago -- I think it was last spring -- I found this beautiful wreath idea online.

Well, when I went to Hobby Lobby today to find an autumn wreath for the front door, I was distressed -- DISTRESSED -- at the prices they were charging.  I saw wreaths for $79 and gasped out loud.  THEN I saw several for $99 and I thought I'd pass out in the aisle.  Seriously.  Who pays that?!?  So instead, I did the following:

Purchased a grapevine wreath, a wooden number "8," some silk flowers and a little bottle of gold paint.

I came home and made this:

I think it's pretty and autumnal and it took me a few minutes with a glue gun and NOT EVEN CLOSE to $79 bucks.  Haha.  Isn't the 8 cute?  I loved the fancy-ness of it.

Here's a closer picture of it:

The Phillies play tonight, I'm baking Lauren Parks' pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, the Gamecocks are currently winning against Auburn and all is right with the world.

  1. OK...so I began to read this post but suddenly jumped up to go pull out the fall wreath I made last year...your post inspired me so much that I didn't finish reading the post. THEN after hanging the wreath I came back to finish reading and saw you gave my cookies a shout out! We are just too cute!

  2. I LOVE that we mutually inspired, haha! Because really, your post the other day about the pumpkin cookies was exactly what I needed to get out my mixer :) Yay us! I want to see what your wreath looks like...
